Consultation services

An honest read before you spend the money.

3 min readUpdated Aug 2026

What this service covers

An experienced set of eyes before you commit money: plant walk-downs, problem evaluations, second opinions on quotes (including ours), and honest recommendations with budget ranges. Sometimes the deliverable is a project; sometimes it is “don’t spend that money — do this instead.” Both are wins.

Good reasons to book one

  • A chronic problem nobody has solved. Spillage, dust, plugging, belt damage — fresh eyes with 35 years of pattern-matching.
  • A big quote you want pressure-tested. We’ll tell you what the scope should be, and what it shouldn’t.
  • A plant you just took over. A condition survey that tells you what will bite first.
  • A capital plan that needs sequencing. What to fix this year, what can wait, what to stop maintaining and replace.
Most suppliers ship you a box. We show up, climb into it, and tell you the truth about what we find.

Problems worth a consult

How a consult runs

  • 1. The walkthrough — your people, our people, the actual equipment, running if possible.
  • 2. Straight findings — what’s fine, what’s failing, what’s dangerous, in priority order.
  • 3. A plan you own — recommendations you can execute with us, with others, or in-house. The advice isn’t a sales funnel; it’s the product.

What to have ready

  • The symptom list — and who knows each problem best
  • Access — an hour with the equipment running is worth three with it down
  • History — past fixes, past vendors, past disappointments included

Frequently asked questions

Are you just going to sell us your own services?

The recommendation stands on its own — including when the answer is “keep your current vendor” or “do nothing yet.” A consultation that is secretly a sales call is worthless, and word travels in this industry.

What do we get at the end?

A written, prioritized findings list with recommendations and budget ranges — something you can hand to management or to any contractor, including us.

How fast can a walk-down happen?

Usually within days — crews and consultants dispatch from Northern and Southern California across CA, NV, OR and WA.
