The Stockpile · Pile 02 — The Parts
Cleaner systems and retrofit blades for most major frames.
Complete cleaner systems and the blades that keep them working: the Uni-Blade, plus retrofit replacement blades for most major manufacturers — Martin® Engineering, American Eagle, ASGCO™, Argonics®, Flexco®, ARCH®, Superior®, Benetech® and MATO. Primary pre-cleaners, secondary cleaners and brush cleaners for the belts that need all three.
Look under the return run. Piles forming below the conveyor are material that paid to ride the belt twice and landed on your cleanup budget. A properly selected, properly tensioned cleaner puts it back in the product stream.
| Position | Where it mounts | What it removes | Typical blade |
|---|---|---|---|
| Primary (pre-cleaner) | On the head pulley face, just below the material trajectory | The heavy layer — 60–90% of carryback | Urethane, positive-rake |
| Secondary | Just behind the head pulley, against the flat of the belt | The film the primary leaves | Urethane or metal-tipped |
| Tertiary / brush | Further down the return run | Fines and damp residue on demanding belts | Rotating brush or scavenger blade |
Wet, sticky or fine material almost always earns primary plus secondary. Metal-tipped secondaries excel on vulcanized belts — on mechanical splices, spec splice-friendly blades instead.
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Carryback persists | Blade worn out, under-tensioned, or wrong grade for the material | Re-blade, re-tension to spec, review blade grade |
| Blade chatter / squeal | Over-tensioned, or belt cover damage bouncing the blade | Back tension off to spec; inspect belt surface |
| Blade wearing on one end | Cleaner not square to the belt, or belt mistracking | Re-square the frame; fix tracking first |
| Splice snagging | Aggressive or metal blade over a mechanical splice | Switch to splice-friendly blade; check splice condition |
| Blades dying in weeks | Over-tension, hot material beyond blade rating, or abrasive fines | Verify tension and temperature; move up a blade grade |
That is exactly what the retrofit line is for — direct replacement blades for most major frames. Send the frame model or a photo and we’ll confirm.
By wear, not calendar — but if you’re changing primary blades more than every few months, look at tension, blade grade or belt condition. We can put cleaners on a scheduled re-blade route.
Wet, sticky or fine material almost always justifies primary plus secondary. Dry, coarse material sometimes gets by with a primary alone. The carryback under your conveyor is the honest answer.
Reading about it is free. So is the phone call. Some answers only come from climbing into the equipment — that’s the part we do in person. Tell us the plant, the part and the problem, and you’ll get a real person.
