Local exhaust, dilution and fume systems — designed to the manual, built in our shop.
Engineering, fabrication and installation of industrial ventilation systems: local exhaust, dilution and exchange-air systems, cutting-table and portable fume extraction. We bring 75 years of combined ventilation knowledge to every project, with the ACGIH Industrial Ventilation Manual at the heart of our design practice — and MERV 15 filtration efficiency, the best in the industry (99.9% on 0.3 to 0.5 micron).
| What you notice | What it means | Fix direction |
|---|---|---|
| Doors hard to open, or slam themselves | Building pressure imbalance — exhaust without makeup air | Engineered makeup air, not propped doors |
| Dust hangs in the air long after the process stops | No capture at the source; dilution doing collection’s job | Local exhaust design at the dust-making points |
| One corner of the plant is always hot / hazy | Dead air zone — the flow path skips it | Rebalance; add extraction or destratification |
| Collector runs hard, room stays dusty | Hood design starving the capture velocity | Fix the hoods and duct runs, not the collector |
| Winter heating bills that hurt | Exhausting heated air with no recovery plan | Balance exhaust vs. makeup; recover where practical |
Dust collection captures dust at known equipment sources. Ventilation handles the building’s air — fume, heat, dilution, make-up air. Most heavy plants need both, designed together.
Yes. Underperforming systems are usually undersized airflow or bad hood design — measurable problems with engineering answers. We survey first, then tell you what it will actually take.
Always. Exhausted air has to come from somewhere; if you don’t plan it, the building finds it through every door gap and the system underperforms. Make-up air is part of every design.
Reading about it is free. So is the phone call. Some answers only come from climbing into the equipment — that’s the part we do in person. Tell us the plant, the part and the problem, and you’ll get a real person.
