YOUR ONE STOP SHOP

Your material handling facility can’t afford to wait when your conveyor belt materials need to be replaced.

ACT Group, our customers rely on us as a one-stop-shop for conveyor belt parts for sale, including idlers, pulleys, spillage safety, magnets, and much more. With such a large selection of rubber belts and parts, we are the complete conveyor belt supplier for your aggregate, mining, food, grain, and recycling company. Nobody knows how to provide quality conveyor belts last like the ACT Group. Here are some tips to keep your factory or industrial conveyor belt in operable condition:

IMPORTANCE OF CUSTOMIZED BELT SIZING

Improper sizing can cause unsafe slack in the belt. Because belts must support hundreds of pounds of material, a slack line can cause damage to both the conveyor system and the products on them. When you request a quote for our rubber conveyor belts, we ask detailed questions about belt use, temperature and abrasion expectations, width required and equipment specifications. Ask your ACT representative for an on-site survey and training on conveyor belt maintenance.

USE IDLERS AND PULLEYS IN KEY CRITICAL POINTS

Preserve your conveyor belt by using idlers and pulleys in high traffic loading points. You want the belt to move efficiently without slack or diversion. Check out this helpful guide about maintaining control at your transfer points.

UNDERSTAND THE SPLICING OPTIONS AVAILABLE

If you employ the use of a conveyor belt system for your industry business, you will need to understand the three methods of splicing. Conveyor belt splicing is fusing together two pieces of conveyor belt together, and it is often a procedure applicable for when belting tears occur. Splicing is also helpful for when you want to lengthen the belt for your uses.

The three options available are mechanical, SUPER-SCREW® and vulcanized splices. It is important to use high-quality materials when belt splicing to maintain the belt’s integrity with as little downtime as possible.

We sell belt fasteners for mechanical splicing as an option to repair torn belts. Metal hinges or plates make up these types of splices. You can use a fastener system that employs the use of a hammer or an electric rivet driver for installation. This type of splicing is best used for environments that endure high humidity levels and heavy-duty belting uses, such as mining and aggregate materials.

Hot-vulcanized splices is the fusing of two belts together through the use of heat. You can also vulcanize belt splices with chemicals (cold vulcanization), but at ACT group, we specialize in hot-vulcanized options. This option is best for certain conveyor belt types in clean, moisture-controlled environments. ACT group stocks Spectrum conveyor belting products that can withstand both mechanical and hot-vulcanized splicing.

The third belt splicing option is the SUPER-SCREW® splice. It is a flexible rubber splice that is screwed on to the belt as an alternative to vulcanizing. This splice can be installed regardless of configuration of the conveyor belt, access conditions and weather conditions. The ACT group partners with the manufacturer to provide this additional option to our customers. Our technicians are trained on the splicing methods using this product. We stock a variety of splices in our warehouse so we can service customers’ urgent needs.

We know your business relies on a belt that will not easily rip or tear, and that can withstand heavy impacts. Our heavy duty black belt products are great for both industrial and factory conveyor uses and our conveyor belts are manufactured specifically to code for ISO, CEMA or even RMA standards, so contact your ACT representative to learn more!
